"Those who Tampered with Census Takers"

Here is a relatively unknown bit of Americana that might have an impact on the studies of any aspiring genealogist. It happened, folks, more than once. Some of those ole' families really liked their privacy. Some things to look for: unfindable branches, multiple land parcels bearing the same name, court delinquincies, and name alterations. This is the lighter side. Other incidences might include actual beatings or being ran off at gunpoint. All are welcome to entertain this notion and say their piece.
