Verlotzsky / Varlow / Hirsch

Velvel Rubinov Verlotzsky (1871-1945) was the son of Reevan Verlotzsky and Tuba (Taube?) Mednikov (Mednikopff). He was born in Radomyshl, Zhitomer, Ukraine. He married Rissel Hirsch (1874-1959), who was the great niece of Tuba. They had seven surviving daughters: Sonia/Sophie (1895-1971), Nechama/Nora (1897-1984), Malke/Mollie 1898-1980, Nussi 1901-1983, Hana/Helen (1905-1991), Golde/Gertrude (1906-1986), and Riva/Ruby (1908-1991).

The family, except for Nussi, emigrated to the United States: Nora and Mollie in 1913, and the remainder of the family in 1923.

Nora married Jake Aronov, and they lived in Montgomery, AL. Sophie married Abram Niedostolaleczny (Nedoss), and they lived in Tuscaloosa, AL. Mollie married Jacob Solnick, and then a Mr. Gordon, and lived in Tuscaloosa, AL. Nussi married Aleksander Krievoglaz, and they remained in Kiev. Helen married Joseph Radomislsky (Radoms) and they lived in Montgomery, and Birmingham, AL. Gertrude married Manuel Katz, and then Sam Garber, living in Tuscaloosa and then Montgomery, AL. Ruby married Emanuel Blitz, and they lived in Montgomery.
