Haplogroup: W5 Age: To Be Determined Origin: West Asia Blurb: This point in your ancestors' journey began in West Asia. From there, members of this lineage traveled toward Europe. Their exact path of entry is unknown, but the higher frequency of this rare lineage in Portugal and along the Western European coast suggests a coastal migration path. Today, this line is most common in Belgium, where it is about 2 percent of maternal lineages. It is about 1 percent of the population in Austria, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
