Location Information: Waipū is about 40km south of Whangārei and is located in the Bream Bay area. It was founded in the mid 19th century by Scottish settlers from Nova Scotia, led by Reverend Norman McLeod.
Waipū cemetery is situated on the left-hand side of Cove Road towards Waipū Cove, just over 3 kilometres from Waipū. Set beside the river on Cove Road it faces the river, farmland, sea and offshore Islands.
