-Lemb(c)ke (also with p) is quite frequeent in northern Germany and is the dialect/minuitive form of Lambert(us); whereas Lemke usually has a different origin and means "loamy stream" (lembeke=Lehmbach). It comes from the area around Hannover.(source Thomas Vogel of Nuremberg)
