Origin of this name could come from the Scandinavian for Raven, Raeffen. It should be pronounced as Rayffs, say the word ray and add ffs on the end. People have trouble with the s on the end of Ralphs. People are stupid. We all trace our small family back to the little village or Marton In Shropshire to around 1450 where we lived. I have yet to finish my research of 40 years into this name but give me another 40 and I will add some more facts. there are many spurious family trees on line by Americans who add all manner of knights, fancy dans highway men and countess'es .
