"SANGHI"-Originally during 14th century some of our ancestors who were living in a village known as Narnaul situated in Haryana State of India constituted a "Sangh" (a group) mainly to provide security to the pilgrims who use to pass through that place and the members of that Sangh were popularly known as "SANGI" which means "Friend" and being member of that sangh they started writing Sanghi as suffix to their name to express the public that they belong to that sangh which is providing security to pilgrims. This is how it has became our surname. One more thing I want to tell you that all sanghis are blood related since the sangh was formed by the family members only. I have some more information about sanghi family's history which I shall be updating here very soon. So far as sanghiwada is concerned that land was gifted by Birbal to the sanghi family which was formerly known as "Birbal Ki Bagichi"
We are originally from a locality called "Sanghiwada" in Narnaul, which is a place in District Mahendragarh in the state of Haryana, India.
