About the Silcock surname

I have no documented link to the SIlcock name although ftDNA shows I am related in the distant past. I do however recall the SIlcock family of fairground fame: http://silcocksfunfairs.com/behind-the-fair/ and as a child went on their waltzers each time they visited the Lancashire village where I was brought up. "Old Man Silcock" visited my family's hardware business at these times, presumably to buy tools or other ironmongery to repair his trailers, caravans and fairground rides, so the return of SIlcocks Fair was welcomed by all members of the family.
