Unkovich Genealogy and Unkovich Family History Information

I am researching the name UNKOVICH for friends.I have found this.Unkovich ancestors were possibly from around Belarus several hundred years ago. Then found in northern Croatia.Driven out of there by the Turks they settled in Racscise, Korcula Island ,Croatia (Dalmatia)which was part of the Austro/Hungarian empire at that time.During the 1800's there were about 150 Unkovichs living at Racsice. From the late 1800's early 1900s they started leaving for New Zealand,Australia and U.S.A.Todays figures show 80 Unkovich living in U.S.A.,80 in Western Australia, and 200 in New Zealand.
