Do you remember the comic strip Peanuts? On October 2, 1950, the beloved comic by Charles M. Schulz was first published. Featuring the classic characters Snoopy, Charlie Brown and many others, Peanuts ran until February 14, 2000, with nearly 18,000 strips published in all.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Schulz developed an early interest in comics. He based the character of Charlie Brown on himself, while the inspiration for Snoopy came from his childhood pet. Today, he is considered one of most influential cartoonists of all time.
