James D. Watson

On February 28, 1953, scientists James D. Watson and Frances Crick discovered the double-helix structure of DNA at Cambridge University. Their research was instrumental in understanding how genetic information is passed and revolutionized the study of biology and medicine. Watson and Crick were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962 for their historic scientific breakthroughs.
