On November 30, 1667, Irish author and satirist Jonathan Swift was born. Best remembered for writing Gulliver’s Travels, Swift was considered the foremost prose satirist of the English language. First published in 1726, Gulliver’s Travels became popular as soon as it was published. Since then, it has never been out of print.
