Sally Ride

Today we remember Sally Ride, who passed away earlier this week from pancreatic cancer. In 1983, Ride became the first American woman in space when she flew into orbit aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. Not only will she be remembered as a pioneering astronaut and a passionate advocate of female advancement in the sciences, but as an inspiration for women for generations to come.
