SCGS Genealogy Jamboree 2014 Recap
We had a great time at the 45th annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree in Burbank, California this weekend. Each year, we can always count on Jamboree to be an enjoyable experience. We were thrilled to see old friends, meet users and introduce some first timers to Geni’s world of collaborative genealogy.
Here’s a picture of the MyHeritage/Geni booth before the expo hall was opened.
On Friday, we were joined by Geni Curator Randy Schoenberg. He volunteered his time to come and help share the benefits of the World Family Tree with the genealogy community.
The day got off to a fantastic start – within the first hour of the conference, Randy was able to connect a brand new user to the World Family Tree.
And he didn’t stop there. Randy also managed to connect Mark Olsen, Business Development Manager, and geneablogger Dick Eastman to the World Family Tree too! Here they are with the rest of the MyHeritage team, Daniel Horowitz, Chief Genealogist, and Mike Stangel, General Manager, USA.
This year, in addition to our famous “Who’s Your Daddy?” t-shirts, we brought with us by far one of the cutest give aways at Jamboree – Geni onesies! It’s never too early to get hooked on genealogy.
It was fun to show off the exciting features on MyHeritage and Geni to new users. Users were also able to take advantage of MyHeritage’s exclusive Jamboree discount – 50% off all subscriptions!
We also heard some really fascinating family history stories from attendees. Below is a photo of Schelly Talalay Dardashti, US Genealogy Advisor, and Daniel Horowitz chatting with conference attendees.
Jamboree was a great success and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
