About Aaron Forman
GEDCOM Note
Aaron Forman married Dorothy Craig in 1657 in Flushing, New York. They had 5 children, Aaron (1655-1720), Alexander (b. 1658), Thomas (1660-1723), Samuel (1662-1740), and Hannah (1664-1716). The family migrated to Monmouth County, New Jersey between the years 1665 and 1668. The Monmouth Patent was granted in 1665. In it, the 12 signers agreed to have 100 families living in the area by 1668. Aaron's son Thomas was the first in my direct line to be born in the New World. Samuel’s great-grandson, Jonathon, married Mary Ledyard. She "went over her boot tops in blood" caring for those wounded in the Battle of Groton Heights in September 1781. It was in this battle where her uncle, Lieutenant Colonel William Ledyard, was killed by his own sword at the hands of the British officer in charge of the attacking force. The town of Ledyard, Connecticut is named in honor of William Ledyard. Aaron died in 1698 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/foreman/1580/
