Abigail Lovett, probably born Mackerel Cove, then Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, after 27 May 1659 (date sister of the same name died), the daughter of John Lovett and his wife, Mary ____.

Abigail married (1) perhaps at Beverly, Essex County, Isaac Randall, probably born England. Isaac died before 23 April 1684.[1]

She probably married (2) after 8 November 1686,[2] Thomas Woodbury, baptized Salem, 3 July 1667 (3 : 5m : 1667).[3] Thomas Woodbury was a joiner. He died before 22 August 1698, the date administration of his estate was granted to his widow, Abigail.[4] Abigail submitted several inventories to the court. The inventory dated 23 December 1698 included "six acres of land adjoyning robert Bradfords and land of john louitts."

Abigail was pregnant with a child by John Ford of Beverly "gotten last October," when, as the widow of Thomas Woodbury, she married (3) "by an old man in Ipswich below the meeting house," before 26 March [1699/1700], Thomas Larcum, as his second wife.[5]

Thomas Larcum was born Ipswich, Essex County, about 1651, the son of Modicai Larcum and his wife, Elizabeth _____, the widow of William Clarke.[6] Thomas' sister, Rebecca Larcum was married at Beverly, before 25 August 1695 to John Standley, son of Bethiah (Lovett) Standley,[7] Abigail's older sister.


Abigail Lovett married twice, 1st to the 2nd Thomas Woodbury, 4 children; 2nd to Thomas Larcom, son of Mordecai, as 2nd wife; 3 children. Abigail, widow of Thomas Larkum died between June 5 and August, 1740 (Robert Hale's record).

4. Thomas2 Larcom (Mordecai1), was probably third son and born about 1661. He was a fisherman. He was
married, first, to Hannah , by whom he had a son Thomas, recorded on the Manchester, Mass., records as born Feb. 16, 1694/5. He married, second, Abigail, widow of Thomas Woodbery, about 1699-1700. On March 24, 1714, he was appointed fence viewer, and on March 15, 1715/6, he was appointed to enforce the law relating to swine. He died March 30, 1718.

On Aug. 19, 1718, Abigail Larcom, widow of Thomas Larkum, late of Beverly, husbandman, sells four and a half acres of land to her son-in-law, John Masury, who had married her daughter by her first husband, Keziah Woodbery. On July 18, 1727, widow Abigail Larcom sells land in Mackerel Cove to John Thorndike, cordwinder. Dec. 25, 1739, Abigail Larcum is pronounced non compos mentis by the Beverly selectmen, and Brackenbury Patch (son-in-law), Mark Morse (son-in-law), and John Standley (husband of Thomas Larcom's sister, Rebecca), sign bond given by Brackenbury Patch, who is appointed guardian. Widow of Thomas Larkum died between June 5 and August, 1740 (Robert Hale's record).

  1. Phebe, b. 1702/3; m. Nov. 11, 1729, Brackenbury Patch, who was b. May 17, 1705. They had five children. Two d. young; the others were Hannah, Sarah and Benjamin. Brackenbury Patch d. May or June, 1743. Phebe, bar. March 18, 1787, aged 84. Widow Phebe Patch was bapt. Aug. 2, 1772.
  2. Jemima, b. 1704; int. of m. Nov. 5, 1727, to Mark Morse. On March 3, 1728, Jemima, wife of Mark Morse, bapt. He was bur. May 5, 1783. She d. May 20, 1797, aged 93. They had seven children, Mark, Thomas, Samuel, Christian, Hannah, David, Jemima.
  3. Hannah, birth and death or burial not found; m. John Bradford (second wife), March 31, 1741. They had one child, Robert. John Bradford was b. Feb. 26, 1689/90. and d. March 29, 1751. She was bapt. July 15, 1753
