Mary Lovett was born. probably Mackerel Cove, then Salem (now Beverly), Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, say about 1645 (assums she was 21 or 22 at the date of marriage), the daughter of John Lovett and Mary _____. Together with her brothers Simon and Joseph, Mary was baptized at Salem, 8 : 7 : 1650 [8 September 1650].[1] She died, probably Beverly, before 28 March 1707.[2]

Family

She married, probably Mackerel Cove, then Salem (now Beverly), say about 1667 (baptism of two children, July 1668), Thomas Patch. He was born about 1638,[3] died in Beverly, 28 September 1711,[4][5] the son of Nicholas Patch and his wife, Elizabeth Owsley.[6]

Thomas and Mary (Lovett) Patch were the parents of at least three children:

1. Thomas Patch (Jr.), baptized Beverly, 19 July 1668.[12] Died Beverly, 16 Mar 1747. Was his widow Eliza?
2. William Patch, baptized Beverly, 19 July 1668.[13]. Died Beverly, 1 Nov 1742. Married Eleanor (unknown).
3. James Patch, baptized Beverly, 31 March 1678.[14]. Died Beverly, 1 Apr 1757. Married Rebekah "Rebecca" Biles.

Thomas and Mary (Lovett) Patch became members of the new Beverly church shortly after its formation.

Notes

Thomas Patch most likely married two women named Mary--(1) to Mary Scott by 1666 (first child, Sarah, is said baptized 08 December 1666, Wenham) and (2) to Mary Lovett.

No, they were two different Thomas Patches. Thomas Patch (d. 1721 at Wenham) married Mary Scott. Thomas Patch (d. 1711 at Beverly) married Mary Lovett.

Stearns, Ezra S. Genealogical and Family History of the State of New Hampshire (Lewis Publishing Company, 1908) Vol. 2, Page 621 "was born in Salem Massachusetts in 1640. Savage mentions him as Thomas of Wenham and the year of his birth about 1638. He was made freeman in 1670 and representative in 1679. His wife was Mary A. Lovett (Savage says Scott) of Ipswich Massachusetts, daughter of Thomas Lovett, and among their children were Thomas, James, Stephen, Isaac, Ephraim, Timothy, Simeon, Sarah, and Marah(Mariah)."
