About Adrian Dorene Duff
Adrian was the beloved mother of Gordon Stuart, Lawrence Lloyd, and John Sherman (Jack) Duff, and the loving wife of Laurence Lloyd Duff and then Charles Sharrow. She was valedictorian of her high school class. Her father was in the newspaper business in Louisburg, Kansas, which is where learned the business from the ground up. She became an excellent linotypist. During World War II through 1952, Adrian and her husband, Laurence, owned and operated laundries in El Centro and San Diego, California, and in Prescott, Arizona. Adrian loved to play bridge, always had a housekeeper, and was a member of the Soroptimist. She chained smoked until she forgot she smoked. Adrian's beautiful needlepoint tapestries are plentiful and are in her all her families homes. Adrian worked well into her 70's.
