A Brass in Adderley Church says that Robert died on June 4th, 1556, and that his wife, Agnes, daughter of John Mainwaring of Peover, died on May 2nd 1560. Below the inscription are the smaller effigies of seven sons and two daughters. In Holmes Chapel Parish Church, Cheshire, there used to be a stained glass window, destroyed soon after 1640, which contained the following inscription: Orate pro bono statu Roberti Nedham militis et Agneti urore ejus et pro animabus Thomæ, Johannis et Roberti filiorum et pro bono statu Matildæ et Johannæ filiarum ejusdem Roberti fieri (sic) in anno domini MCCCCxliiij (Pray for the good estate of Robert Needham knight and of Agnes his wife and for the souls of Thomas, John and Robert his sons and for the good estate of Matilda and Joan daughters of the same Robert (who caused this window) to be made in the year of our lord 1544.)
