Albert G. Gass was born, either, 1844 or 1841. Born to David Monroe and Elizabeth "Lonnie orLonie" Chubb Gass. Several cenus' show he was born in Clark County, Arkansas.
More interesting is Albert's Civil War tenure. He enlisted in the Confederate Army, July 14,1861 at Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He enlisted into the Arkansas 6th Infantry, 'New" Company F, rank Pvt. July 31, 1862 he is present in the Arkansas 12th Infantry Co. C. He is captured July 9, 1863 but is soon paroled over the July 12-13, 1863 time frame at Port Hudson, Louisiana, located on the Mississippi River north of Baton Rouge in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana.
