He lived in Hurstville. The children's school was in Forest Road, Hurstville. Vera was able to walk home from school. They moved to Woniora Road for a few months before moving to Griffith.

Furniture was retained and put into a temporary brick residence in Kings Grove Road, Hurstville, and later consigned to Willbriggie and brought out to the farm by lorry and horses. See Vera Chettle's book page 13.

Alfred Johnson and Arthur Day went to Tech together, taking the Trades Course in the School of Carpentry and Joinery both qualifying with honours five years later.

Alfred John Johnson spent five years in Western Australia from 1893 to 1898.

Arthur Day was killed in action in the Boer War.

Alfred John Johnson spent some time, house building, at Masterton, New Zealand after his son Alfred Newman Johnson was born in 1902.

Alfred's brother, Eric Walter Johnson was a witness at Alfred and Lizzie Johnson's wedding.

Alfred was buried at the Methodist Cemetery, Griffith on 14 Oct 1960.
