ALLEN THOMASON

Wolfe City – Allen Douglas Thomason, 77, died Sept. 18, 2005, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville following an illness of several months. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial is at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The son of Wesley Clark and Gladys Gilliam Thomason, he was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Greenville. He married Doris Henington on Sept. 27, 1948, in Rockwall.

Mr. Thomason served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He and his wife were co-owners of Henington Industries.

Mr. Thomason was one of the founders of Webb Hill Country Club, was a charter member of Wolfe City Kiwanis and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.

Mrs. Thomason is survived by his wife of Wolfe City; three sisters, Cordell Cook of Greenville, Juanita Winterbauer of Garland and Ila Rice of Quinlan; a daughter, Judy McClung of Garland; one granddaughter, Debra McClung of Garland; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents and a son, Bob Lee Thomason, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are John Armstrong, J. T. Woodruff, Reuben Milton, Bill Reneau, Bobby Owens, Charles Allen Williams, Jerry Wattenbarger and James E. Craig. Honorary pallbearers are Bernard Clayton, Gene Brent, John Williams, Rex Denney, H.H. Milford, Charles Ranley, Dr. S. E. Smith, co-workers of Henington Studio and Publishing Company and Excelsior Lodge 505 AF&AM.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City.
