Amelia "Emily " Neumiller was born in South Russia. She emigrated from Russia to the United States with her parents, leaving Bremen, Germany July 2, 1908 on the ship S.S. Breslau. Arriving at the port of Baltimore, Maryland on July 14, 1908. Amelia grew up at Mercer, McLean Co, North Dakota.
John and Amelia farmed near Mercer, ND in Mclean Co. The 1925 ND census has John and Emily living in Park Twp., McLean County, ND. The 1930 ND census has them farming in Park Twp with children Clifford and Calvin living with them, along with John's brother Fred.
In 1939 they moved to a farm near Wing, ND. The 1940 census lists John and Amelia on a grain and stock farm in Richmond Twp, Burleigh Co, ND with three children:Clifford, Calvin and Marvin living with them. Christa Back, a school teacher, also lived with them. in 1957 John and Amelia moved to Wing and lived there until 1980 when they moved to Mandan, ND.
