According to one unsourced assertion, arrived in North America with the 1638 sailing of the Susan and Ellen.

1. on Wednesday, October 18, 1620 in Messing, Essex, England, to John Porter (1594-1648), of Windsor, Connecticut. He was the son of John Porter (1560-1625) and Sibyl Vessey (1561-1625).

2. Anna Porter was baptized in Felsted, county Essex, England, on September 22, 1621. She married William Gaylord on February 24, 1644/5.
3. John Porter was baptized in Felsted on February 9, 1622/3.
4. Sarah Porter (Gerald Ford's line): She was baptized in Felsted, Essex, England, on March 15, 1624/5, and died in Stratford, Connecticut, on March 16, 1696/7.
5. James Porter was baptized in Felsted on February 20, 1627/8.
6. Rebecca Porter was baptized in Felsted on September 16, 1630.
7. Samuel Porter was baptized in Felsted on May 26, 1632, and died in July, 1632. He died in infancy and was buried on July 15, 1632.
8. Rose Porter was baptized in Felsted on June 24, 1633, and died in 1648. Her burial is recorded in Matthew Grant's Old Church Record as being on May 12, 1648.
9. Samuel (Grover Cleveland's line) Porter was baptized in Felsted on June 2, 1635.
10. Mary Porter (Ulysses S. Grant's line) was baptized in Felsted on October 1, 1637.
11. Nathaniel Porter was born in Windsor on July 19, 1640, and died in Stratford in January, 1679/80.
12. Hanna Porter was born in Windsor in 1642.

Date of burial has been (erroneously?) reported to be July 1647.

The Parish records of Shalford & Messing, Essex, England list Anne Whighte baptised July 13, 1600 in Shalford, daughter of Robert Whighte.

Researchers have confused her name as Rose, but that was actually the name of her daughter, Rose Porter baptised June 24, 1633 in Felstead, Essex, England.
