About Anne Samson (Plummer)

Anne Plummer married Mayflower Pilgrim Henry Samson; he died in 1684 at Duxbury.

The will of Henery Sampson of Duxburrow dated 24 Dec. 1684, sworn 5 March 1684/85, names sons: Stephen executor, John, James, Caleb; daus.: Elizabeth, wife of Roberd Sprout; Mary, wife of John Summers; Hannah, wife of Josias Holmes: Dorcas, wife of Thomas Bony; (unnamed) dau., wife of John Hanmore.

From Henry Samson - Overlooked Pilgrim Ancestor

"On 6 February 1635/6, now 31 years old, he [Henry Samson of the Mayflower] married Anne Plummer."

"We do not know when Anne Plummer arrived in the Colony. There was no Plummer family in the Colony at this time so she and an assumed cousin of about the same age, Mary Plummer, probably arrived with another family."

"In 1651 Governor Bradford summarized what had happened to the passengers in his "increasings" section of his Plantation history:

"But the youth Henry Sampson is still living and is married and hath seven children."

"We know now that two more were born after that. They had four sons (Stephen, John, James, and Caleb) and five daughters (Elizabeth, Hannah, Mary, Dorcas, and one whose name has been forgotten)."

Notes

On 24 Dec. 1668, acknowledged same day, Henry Sampson of Duxborough sold a lot in Namasket to Edward Gray: wife Ann acknowledged deed.

Ann PLUMMER married Henry SAMSON and likely predeceased him as she is not mentioned in his will.

Concerning her possible relationship to Mary (PLUMMER) BARNES, wife of John BARNES, see the Henry Samson Kindred website at:

http://www.pilgrimhenrysamsonkindred.org/article_overlooked_ancstor.shtml

for it is not entirely certain that Ann (PLUMMER) SAMSON was the sister of Mary (PLUMMER) BARNES. Although both women were married in Plymouth within a few years of each other, no one knows for certain who their parents were.
