Annie Otter

Annie Otter is # 1587 on the 1907 Wooster Roll where she is identified as the daughter of Theophile Otter # 1586. Annie's traditional name is recorded as "Tchingodjianokwe" meaning "Trembling thunder" but the name, its meaning and significance require scrutiny and comment by those with expertise in nuances of the Anishinaabemowin language and Potawatomi culture.

In 1907 when Annie Otter was age 9 she was living with her father and sisters at Honey Harbour, Ontario where she held NO rights in Canada.
