American rancher, heir and businessman Austen Cargill II has an estimated net worth of $2.3 billion as of March 2013 according to Forbes.

Austen Stowell Cargill II is known to be the great grandson of Cargill Inc’s founder, William W. Cargill. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he took his bachelor and master’s degrees. He proceeded to Oregon State University to complete his PhD. Currently based in Livingston, Montana, Austen Cargill II is currently married with two children.

In 1995, he officially joined Cargill Inc. as one of the board of directors. Shortly, he became the company’s Vice President, a position he held until 2001. He has also served on the board of NASDAQ-traded company GalaGen from 1999 through 2002.

As of fiscal year 2012, Cargill Inc. had an estimated revenue of $134 billion making it as one of the largest privately held companies in the U.S. today. It is known to hold interests in risk management, cattle, crops, food production and commodity trading.
