Avis Evelyn Combs

Avis Evelyn Combs, 83, of Caldwell, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her home of natural causes.

Avis was born October 10, 1929 to Charlie and Willie Eells in Gate, Oklahoma.

Avis married Vernon Combs on July 6, 1946 in Homedale, Idaho. They lived in the Homedale area and later settled in Caldwell. They raised five children and were members of the Followers Of Christ Church.

Avis is survived by all five of her children: Ted and Joyce Combs, of Caldwell, Ann Barker, of Middleton, Chris and Patti Smith, of Wilder, Archie and Diana Combs, of Nampa, and Danny and Vicky Combs, of Caldwell; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Willie; her husband, Vernon; son-in-law, Curt Barker; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Combs; and seven grandchildren.

Avis was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a great example. She will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, January 13 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14 at Marsing/Homedale Cemetery.
