Berta, whose mother was a Pollitzer, was first cousin to Fanni Stricker geb. Pollitzer.

Eva Stricker-Barolin wrote: "Berta had, being Jewish, to leave her appartement in 1941, but fortunately my mother Flora [Barolin, Berta's daughter-in-law] could arrange a room for her in a Seniors' Home for Jews in Vienna, organized by a Swedish mission. So [Berta] died peacefully of old age and pneumonia there."
