  • 1896-1933 he resided at Wien IX, Grünetorgasse 16.
  • 1913-1926 Edmund was a President of the writer's association "Concordia" in Vienna.
  • Before 1933 he was a speaker and debater of some renown at various public gatherings in Vienna, and the author of satirical and socio-critical articles and poems appearing under the pseudonym "Florian" in Vienna.
  • Also known under the nom-de-plume "Vivus" (see sources below)

Several books of his works published include novels (e.g. "Armer Leute Kind",1894), socio-political essays (e.g. "Die gebildete Welt ", 1886 & "Wie man ein Socialist wird", 1887) and two anthologies of "poetry to be read out aloud at light-hearted gatherings": Bunter Abend, 1923, & "Immer die Frauen", 1930.

cf. Edmund's granddaughter Lisl, née WALK's mini-memoir completed 2004 (in family archives): " ... My grandparents were engaged seven (!) years but their marriage was not happy ...They separated eventually and grandfather lived in Grünentorgasse with us. He was a most stabilising influence in my young life. He loved me and we were great pals. He worked for a newspaper, writing weekly articles and he often took me with him to the newspaper office in the city.

Grandfather was well-known and respected in Viennese society... Grandpa was lovely and sweet, with his white beard, and very kind. He had a library with thousands of books (next to my own room) and a sitting room stuffed with old furniture..."

Edmund left the Jewish faith 1893 (same source as above); baptised as a Protestant Feb. 3, 1919.

Remarried on on 10 April 1928, aged 68, in Wien to Baronin Maria Leonie, "Lola", Sztankovitzs- Barkoczy, on her deathbed.
