Apotekare i Brösarp och i USA. Ogift.

Antogs som elev vid apoteket i Åmål 1854. Avlade där farmacie studiosi-examen 1857. Konditionerade till 1860 på apoteket i Åmål, och 1860 även på apoteket Korpen i Stockholm, på apoteket i Nora 1861-62, och åter på apoteket i Åmål 1862-63. Avlade apotekarexamen den 1865-05-29. Var ånyo anställd på apoteket i Åmål en tid 1865. Förestod medikamentsförrådet i Dalarö 1865-66. Fick 1866 personligt privilegium på apoteket i Brösarp.

År 1870 lämnade han apoteket och reste till Nordamerika, utan att underrätta sysslomännen i konkursen. Satte 1870 upp ett apotek i staden Galva i Henry county i Illinois, USA. Flyttade senare samma år till Bishop Hill, där han likaledes upprättade ett mindre apotek och samtidigt praktiserade som läkare. Flyttade senare samma år åter till Galva, och sedan 1871 vidare till Orion i Henry county, där han utövade medicinsk praktik. Bosatte sig i slutet av 1871 i Chicago, där han tillsammans med farmacie studiosus Elof Fromholdt Hesselroth 1872 öppnade ett fullständigt apotek. Detta apotek var det första svenska apoteket i Chicago. Detta apotek, som kallades Phoenix, innehade han till 1873, då han bytte sin del i apoteket mot ett flyttbart apotek i Galesbury plus en kontant summa. Det flyttbara apoteket uppsatte han sedermera i Chicago.

Han började 1873 studera medicin vid Chicago Medical College och bosate sig 1875 i Republic i Marqvette county i Michigan. Där drev han en större affär med medicinalier, guldsmedsarbeten, böcker och skrivmaterial.

62. Carl Anders Wilhelm Weinberg, b. Amal 11 Oct. 1838, s. Carl Anton Weinberg, apothecary, and Anna Marta Rosell. After having- passed the examination as a registered pharmacist, he was given the franchise to operate the pharmacy in Brosarp Parish (Krist.), but which later went into bankruptcy. Weinberg then departed for America, arriving in New York 12 May 1870. He came to Illinois, where he worked in drugstores in Galva, Bishop Hill and Orion. In 1872 he joined his old friend, Lorentz Elof Fromholdt Hesselroth in Chicago, setting up the first Swedish pharmacy in that city, named the Phoenix ( see note 29 above). Weinberg was a restless soul, however, and already the following year he moved to Galesburg,IL and then back again to Chicago. In 1875 he moved to Republic, Marquette Co., MI, where he established himself as a druggist but also was the purveyor of books, periodicals and jewelry.
