Apotekare

Efter lärdomsskola i Linköping antagen som elev på apoteket i Åmål 1844. Från 1846 fortsatte elevtiden i barndomsstaden Linköping. Avlade farm. stud.-examen 3 dec. 1849. Han arbetade sedan som laborant på apoteken Phoenix och Markattan i Stockholm och studerade vidare och avlade apotekarexamen 16 dec. 1854. Han fortsatte tjänstgöra på olika apotek som receptarie och laborant. År 1864 köpte han apoteket i Högsby, Kalmar län, vilket han sålde 1 nov, 1868 till sin bror Frans Magnus Carlberg. Själv begav han sig till USA i maj 1869, där han första arbetade som apotekare i New York men senare i Chicago.

In May of 1869 he emigrated to America, working in New York and Chicago. Finally he purchased a pharmacy in Quinsigamond, outside Worcester, MA, where he remained for 15 years before he died there 22 Oct. 1898. He never m.
