Carmelo Ponte

Carmelo Ponte was born on July 7, 1897 according to his Naturalization papers filed in New York City in 1923.

Carmelo Ponte sailed from Palermo on August 30, 1911 on the SS San Giorgio and arrived at the Port of New York on September 12, 1911. He was traveling with his mother Liboria Zuccaro. He listed his grandmother Antonia in Trabia as the nearest relative where he came from. He was planning on going to Homestead, Pennsylvania to join his father Salvatore Ponte

He sailed from Palermo and emigrated to the USA at the Port of New York on the Providence on July 24, 1923

In 1923, according to his naturalization papers he was a shoemaker living at 61 La Salle Street in New York City. He was married to Carmela Ponte who was residing in Italy.

In 1929 he because a US citizen. His naturalization papers state he was a shoemaker living at 2226 Woodstock Ave, Swissvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania with his wife Carmela Ponte and four children

In 1942 he moved to Oneida, New York (according to his obituary)
