About Catharina Valck, SM
Trijntje is short for Catharina / Katharina / Kathrijn / Katrijn(tje) / Trijntje.
Discussion about birthplace Catharina
Someone says here that Catharina was born in Cape, SA, but that is totally wrong. The documents he is refering to state/say that she was of Cape, came from Cape, lived in Cape, but that does not say/mean she was also born there ! That is not what they were saying. They were mentioning Berlin and Wolfenbuttel which are both places outside South-Africa. Those two men were probably only short in South Africa, Catharina came to South-Africa when she was still a baby or toddler only, but she was sure born in Amsterdam as you can see below in her baptism. And some more, in the Cape Town baptisms there are no children baptized by the surname Valk or Valck inbetween 1695-1715. In 1716 another Cornelis Valck, married to Gezina Meijboom is the first Valck / Valk to baptize his child in Cape Town. [Recia]

Confirmation that all the baptisms found in Amsterdam are sure the right family of this Catharina / Trijntje
The witnesses showing up down here at the baptism from Cornelis Eversdijk, also came from Amsterdam to Cape, South-Africa. Jacob(us) Root was the cousin of Engela Valck and her sister Catharina / Trijntje Valck, he was the son of aunt Annetje Frederiks alias Johanna Frederikz. and her husband Paulus Jacobsz Root. Annetje Frederiks (Haak) was the sister of Trijntje Frederiks Haak alias Catharina Frederiks, mother of Engela Valck and Catharina / Trijntje Valck. So this Johanna Frederikz. witnessing here with her son Jacobus Root was the aunt of Engela and her sister Catharina Valck. [Recia]
