A Patriot of the American Revolution for CONNECTICUT with the rank of Private. DAR Ancestor #: A060637

Born July 10, 1752 in Milford, Connecticut to Israel Isbell and Sarah Tibbals. He died April 1777, in Derby, Connecticut. He married Deborah (apparently Beach).

Their two children Comfort and Chauncey Albert were baptized in Milford on June 20, 1779.

Chauncey Isbell was born in Milford, Connecticut. He was killed in a bayonet charge during the British raid on Danbury, April 27, 1777 and died commending his wife and 18 month old child (Chauncey Isbell Jr.) to the care of his comrades. (Submitted by Arthur Humphreville Isbell. [1]
