About Christopher Goodwin of Charlestown
E. L. Goodwin's Ancestry and History indicates that Christopher Goodwin arrived in Mass. in 1633 and that he married Mary. Her maiden name is unknown. They were probably married after his arrival as their first child was born in 1643. Christopher and Mary Goodwin had four sons, Christopher , Nathaniel , John and Timothy .

Christopher Goodwin, immigrant ancestor, was born in England in 1618 and died Jan. 22, 1683. He came to this country before Aug. 9, 1656, when he was admitted to the Charlestown, Mass. church. He was a mason by trade. He was living in Charlestown in 1675; was admitted a freeman in 1677. He bought a place of Pierce Harrison, located on the raod to the ferry. He deeded land to his sons Christopher, Timothy, Nathaniel, John and other children. His gravestone may be seen in the old burying ground.
- He was probably a son of Daniel and Dorothy (Barker) Goodwin, of Oxford, England, whose will proved February 16, 1625, mentions minor sons Daniel and Stephen.
He married Mary Crouch who was the daughter of William Crouch.

In his profiling of William Goodwin, Robert Charles Anderson recognized only one child, Elizabeth, born to that immigrant,[1] thus the relationship between Christopher and the purported parents has been severed.
