Edmund Wood was born about 1550 and lived in the Shelf-Northowram area. He may have married in 1572-3 Alice Edwards or Jenet Hurst. However, neither of these names appear among his descendants, while the name Susan is exceedingly prominent. The will of his son-in-law, Thomas Butterfield, dated 16 September 1614, mentions Edmund Sr. as alive. The will of his son John, dated 27 May 1618, does not mention him, but he may have been a witness to it.

B - Edmund Wood baptized 4 Feb 1549 Halifax, probable son of Richard Wood[1] ["of Sowerby"] and his wife perhaps Margaret Ambler OR a second wife, grandson of Richard Wood and Christabell (unknown) - no further info on this Edmund.
