About Elijah Mallory
He was probably a close relative, perhaps a brother, of Ezekiel Mallory, of Putnam County, Indiana. He was probably in Putnam County by 1826, when Permelia Mallory, Ezekiel's daughter, married Greenberry Cox. Alternatively, he might have been son of a Thomas Mallory. Elijah and Thomas bought land in Putnam County as early as 1839. However, if that Thomas was the Thomas who died about 1804 in Louisa County, Virginia, then Elijah was not his son -- Thomas' will names "each & every one of my children" and Elijah is not among them.
