Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unknown-535375
Elizabeth's birth date was circa 1606 or 1607, based on her age at death (nearly 82). Her last name at birth was unknown.[1]. She was Christened on 29 Dec 1608 in Preshute, Wiltshire, England.[citation needed]
Marriage
Elizabeth's married Samuel Eddy by 1637,[1] [2], and their children included:
- John, born December 25, 1637, who married Hepzibah Doggett, daughter of John[1]
- Zachariah, born about 1639, who married Alice Padduck, and then married Abigail, the widow of Jeremiah Smith[1]
- Caleb, born about 1643, who married Elizabeth Bullock[1]
- Obadiah, born about 1645, who married Bennett Ellis[1]

Disputed Origins
Online family trees, and the Eddy Genealogy, at page 22, indicate Samuel Eddy's wife was Elizabeth, probably Savory.[5] However, the connection to the Savory family is speculative. The widow of Thomas Savory refers to Samuel Eddy as her "brother-in-law". While it is possible that this indicates Elizabeth was his sister, it is equally possible that she was a sister of Samuel Eddy. Please read the profiles for these two men.
Anderson names her Elizabeth _____, and adds that the existence of a deed with both men is not proof of a particular relationship because it was a common practice for these lots to be granted to pairs of individuals who were not related. [1]
Research Notes
Elizabeth Eddy was previously attached to parents Thomas Savory and Mary (Woodcocke) Savory of Hannington in Wiltshire. There is no evidence of this connection through baptism or other records, and Thomas left a will naming his children with no mention of Elizabeth.
The LNAB 'Savory' is also linked to Severy and Severit. The name is spelled differently depending on the region. Savory is usually found in the New England area. Severy or Sevrey shows up as you go further west. This explanation is found in the North American Family Histories 1500-2000; Thomas Savory-Pilgrim. NOTE: This applies to the last name, not to her specifically.
