About Elizabeth Denison
He commanded the left wing of the patriot forces, in the battle which preceded the "Wyoming Massacre," July 3, 1778. He was a man of strong ability and character, and stood among the foremost in the region where he lived.
DENISON GENEALOGY, ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS OF CAPTAIN GEORGE DENISON, Of Stonington Connecticut, by John Denison Baldwin and William Clift, Worcester, MA, 1881, p 198
Elizabeth's birth was recorded in the Barbour Collection of Vital Statistics for Lyme, New London Co., CT as Oct. 22, 1750. However, many area histories say she was born Nov. 22, 1750. Many baptisms were performed at exactly one month of age, so it's very likely the November date was a baptism, rather than a birth.
Elizabeth's death was reported in the Susquehanna Democrat newspaper on Friday Evening, 1 May 1812. It said that she had died "Monday Evening last." That made it four days prior, or 27 Apr 1812. This was borne out by the probate date of her will. The book A History of Wilkes-Barre, by Oscar Jewell Harvey, also reports that date (about the only source that gives a date of death for her).* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Aug 8 2019, 6:12:21 UTC
