Frederick Whitworth William Aylmer, 6th Baron Aylmer, KCB

Admiral Sir Frederick Whitworth William Aylmer, 6th Lord Aylmer was born on 12 October 1777 the son of Sir Henry Aylmer, 4th Lord Aylmer and Catharine Whitworth.

He died on 5 March 1858 at age 80 at 20 Dawson Place, Paddington, London, England, unmarried. He was buried on 12 March 1858 at Kensal Green Cemetery, London, England. His will was probated on 4 August 1858.

• He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Royal Navy.
• He fought in the Battle of the Nile on 7 August 1798.
• He was decorated with the award of the Turkish Gold Medal in 1801.
• He was captain of the the H.M.S. Severn at the bombardment of Algiers on 27 August 1816.
• He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 19 September 1816.
• He held the office of Naval Aide-de-Camp to the King between 1830 and 1837.
• He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1837.1 He gained the rank of Vide-Admiral in 1848.
• He was decorated with the award of the Knight, Order of St. Ferdinand of Naples.
• He succeeded to the title of 6th Lord Aylmer, Baron of Balrath, co. Meath [I., 1718] on 23 February 1850.
• He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Aylmer, of Balrath, co. Meath [I., 1662] on 23 February 1850.
• He gained the rank of Admiral in 1854.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 5 July 1855.
• His last will was dated 29 February 1856.
