MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 2 Gary Wayne Sachnowitz was born in San Antonio to Sam & Lucille Sachnowitz on September 15, 1943. He died peacefully on Friday, August 28. As a boy, he proudly attended Mark Twain Elementary School and Thomas Jefferson High School, where he graduated in 1961. He loved his childhood in San Antonio, growing up with his brother, cousins and close friends. He attended Temple Beth-El and was President of Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA) and also Beau to B’nai B’rith Girls (BBG). He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he met Sandra Galoob. They married on February 29, 1964 in Longview; Gary and Sandi where married forty-five years. Born to Gary and Sandi were two sons, Jay Michael Sachnowitz and Dan Anthony Sachnowitz. A loving and committed father, he together with Sandi, devoted themselves to raising their boys. He also dearly loved his parents and in-laws, Milton and Minnie Galoob. Together, Gary and Sandi owned and operated Program IV for many years in Longview. Gary loved his years of working with the Program IV family and stayed in touch with many of them. When healthy, Gary was naturally comical and his passion for life made him exciting to be around. He will be deeply missed by those who love him. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Lucille Sachnowitz and his brother Larry J. Sachnowitz. He is survived by his wife, Sandi, his children, Jay and Ronda, Danny and Stephanie, his grandson, David, and close friend, Jan Tunner.
