Mary Staples left a will dated 12 Sept 1696, left bequests to sons Thomas & John; Daus. Mary wife of Josiah Harvey and Hannah wife of John Beach; friend Mary Slawson; grandchildren Hannah Harvey & Mehitabel Fanton; and to Nathan Gold a book. She probably died in Fairfield where she lived.

Disambiguation

Please note: Savage's Genealogical Dictionary makes a statement that John married a daughter of Thomas Staples of Fairfield. And, Yes, one of the daughters of Thomas Staples, Hannah, did indeed marry John Beach. Except, that John Beach, was the son of John Beach (see below) not the immigrant John Beach. This proliferates around the internet. Dates are frequently given for Mary that are based on guesses or are the dates for Mary Staples (other daughter of Thomas) who married Josiah Harvey.
