About Hans Rothfels
The famous, and ultra-conservative, German historian. Taught at the University of Königsberg during Weimar Germany. He and his wife converted to Lutheranism in 1910; they both were originally Jewish. He reluctantly emigrated to the UK in 1938, eventually got a job at the University of Chicago, and came back to Germany in 1951 to teach in Tübingen. His interpretation of the Nazism and the Holocaust painted Germans in a very positive light.
