Henry Soane (1622–1661) was a Virginia politician and landowner. He served in the House of Burgesses 1652–55, 1658 and 1660–61, and was its Speaker in 1661. Descendants of Henry Soane (A7403) are eligible for membership in The Jamestown Society.
Henry Soane was the son of Henry Soane and Elizabeth Worger. He was born in 1622 in Brighton, Sussex, England and died in 1661 in James City County, Virginia. He married Judith Fuller in 1646 in Sussex, England. All but one of his children were born in England. Son William was born in Virginia.
He emigrated to Virginia before 1651, settling in James City County along the Chickahominy River. He received headrights for paying for the passage of six people to Virginia: Henry Soane Sr., Henry Soane Jr., Judith Soane Sr, Judith Soane Jr., John Soane and Elizabeth Soane. At one time, he owned patents on over 2,200 acres of land along the James River.
