"Isabelle, another sister, with her husband, John Patterson, came over from Ireland in 1845, landing at New York. With them came an older sister named Jane, a cripple and familiarly known as Aunt Ginnie. The Pattersons had eight children named Robert, William, Margaret, James, Susan, Matilda, Jane and John J. They came to Beechwood in 1846, and settled on the farm where the late James Paterson resided. Aunt Ginnie died November lst 1857. Isabelle, the wife and mother, died August 13th, 1871. The husband died August 25th, 1874. The youngest son was John J. Patterson, now a merchant in Brookville. All were members of the Beechwoods Church, and those who are dead were buried in the Beechwoods cemetery. "

Inscription: Aged 72 years. Native of Ireland.
