Jacob Gates

JACOB3 GATES (Joseph2, George1), born July 10, 1708 in East Haddam, CT, baptized August 1, 1708, settled in Millington and married THANKFUL ______. She was admitted to the Millington Church from the First Church of East Haddam, February 14, 1745/6. Thankful Gates died and he married, second, in Millington, October 13, 1763, MARY STEWART. She was a member of the Millington Church in 1779. He died in Millington, June 20, 1789, “aged 80.” The Colchester probate record shows that the name of his widow was Mary, but as the estate was insolvent, the names of his children do not appear. She died in Millington, January 20, 1793, aged 53 years.
