"Event: He married Phoebe Cox, circa 1748 in Virginia, and then moved to North Carolina where his daughter Phoebe was born. Afterwards, he apparently resided in Virginia and possibly Newberry, South Carolina. Moved 1752 Guilford Co., North Carolina, USA. (Which is 106 miles straight south of Bedford County Virginia.)

We know her from the record of her daughter’s birth: “Phebe Demoss born to Phebe Demoss and James Demoss on 5 Jul 1752 in Guilford, North Carolina.” This was recorded at the New Garden Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers.)
Her birth date is seen as 8 Jul 1728 at St George's Parish, Harford, Maryland, and her marriage to James DeMoss is estimated as 1748. Dates of death ranges from 1775 to 1790, in Virginia; there’s a death date seen as November 10, 1775, (her husband’s death date) and a burial at the DeMoss Family Cemetery, Radford, Bedford County, Virginia. That cemetery location has not been entered at Find A Grave.
