James emigrated to Newport, Nova Scotia around 1764. He and his family were on route to Philadelphia when they stopped in Halifax for supplies. Dr. Day, an Irishman, employed him as a foreman on Mantua Farm, Newport Co., Nova Scotia. James lived there 20 years before moving to W. Noel, NS.

Biography

John Dunsmire/Dunsmoor was born to a Scottish family resident in Ulster, Ireland. He emigrated to America.

Dr. John Dunsmoor married Eunice Sawyer.

John Dunsmore of Lancaster, Massachusetts, made his will on 14 October 1747. In the will, he mentioned his wife Eunice Dunsmore, son William Dunsmore who had not yet reached the age of 20, and daughter Catrina Dunsmore. He nominated William Richardson and John Canton of Lancaster to serve as executors.[1]

He died in Lancaster, Massachusetts, on 7 December 1747 "in the 45th year of his age." He is buried there alongside three of his children who had died in September 1745.[2]
