Not the same as James Stewart
JAMES STEWART
According to one pedigree published by WikiTree, James Stewart, here treated, is the son of James Stewart, fifth Lord Innermeath, and his wife Helen Ogilvy. He is said to have married Catherine Fyer in Glasgow in 1588, and to have died there in 1616, although this propositon is not supported by verifiable evidence. Wikitree
James Stewart, fifth Lord Innermeath, did have a son named James, but he has no known connection with Glasgow. Moreover, he is said to have married Margaret Maule, eldest daughter of Thomas Maul of Panmure. The Scots Peerage. Volume V., note 1 on p. 6 James Stewart, here treated, is said to have married Catherine Fryer.
